About Alexis

Hi! Welcome to my site! I thought my first blog post should be about who I am and why I do what I do.

My name is Alexis and I love exercise and fitness. This love started when joined my high school cross country team. I loved training with friends, being coached, challenging myself and being a part of a team.

Many injuries sent me into studying the field of physical therapy. I spent 3 years in school studying physical therapy and how to repair injuries and pain through movement.

While studying I also worked in physical therapy and over time I realized while I liked what I did and felt it was important I wasn't passionate about it. I discovered that many of the patients I was treating were in physical therapy because they didn't properly take of their bodies earlier.

I learned that my passion was in injury prevention through healthy habits and safe training! I switched my course of study to exercise and wellness and fell in love! After a few more years in school I fell in love again. This time with a sweet boy who lived across the street from me. We got married and a few months later I graduated with my degree.

After a lot of searching I landed what I thought to be the dream job of working in corporate wellness at a software company - Adobe. I managed the on site gym, health coached, personal trained, and taught classes there for two years. I made so many friends and loved the balance of having "an office job" and "a gym job."

I found specialized interests in cycling and training women so I decided to further my education and certifications. I became a certified cycling instructor as well as a certified pregnancy and postpartum trainer.

During these two years my husband and I decided to start growing our family and found out in May 2018 that I was pregnant with a little boy! The excitement (and sickness) quickly set in and my pregnancy training came in very handy.

My big plans to exercise everyday during pregnancy didn't go as planned. I just listened to my body and did my best. Pregnancy in real life was much different than what I had studied. I learned so much and taught a lot of people around me about what is possible during pregnancy.

One of the things I love most about training and teaching about exercise and pregnancy is busting myths. Myths abound everywhere in fitness and they can be so frustrating to navigate. I love what I do because I get to share truth and bring confidence to women everywhere.

After falling in love yet another time with my sweet little boy, I decided to leave my full-time job to become a stay at home mom. I still wanted to train and teach so I started this business.

I am so happy to be specializing in this for my work and absolutely love working with women before, during and after pregnancy. Please feel free to reach out, introduce yourself, and ask questions. I am so happy you are here!
